Documentaries on parkour typically showcase the extreme elements of our discipline and focus solely on the movement spectacle that results. The guys behind Breaking the Line were a refreshing change in that they wanted to go deeper into the origin, principles and core values of the discipline of parkour, things I much prefer discussing and also think are far more important and valuable to the world.

Physical achievement is one thing, and what parkour enables one to do in that way is fantastic of course, but its real strength is in the self-knowledge it brings us and how it brings us closer to our full holistic potential. It’s a transformative practice that encourages true strength, practical movement ability, discipline, creativity, liberation, autonomy and self-will.
