Put in the Groundwork

Posted by

The best training is that from which you cannot hide.

Groundwork is stark in its exposure. The floor is a hard, unforgiving taskmaster. But the floor never hits you – you hit the floor: so learn to control the contact and it will soften dramatically.

Spend some time moving in this way and you will soon discover your strengths and weaknesses, your biases and preferences.

The demands on your body are high. But put the work in – follow that cardinal rule of consistency – and you will see results. It will become easier. Not easy, but easier.

Your body will adapt and toughen up.

The mind will follow.
